ORAB Boys Basketball Youth Tournament

The ORAB Boys Basketball Youth Tournament is back, and it's set to be a day filled with spirited competition and basketball excitement for boys in grades 5th through 8th! Here are the essential details you need to know:

Tournament Information:

• Date: Saturday, March 2, 2024
• Location: Sheldon High School/Middle School Gym
• Boys divisions in 5th through 8th grade are invited to showcase their basketball prowess on the court.

Registration Deadline:

• Make sure to secure your spot by registering before Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023.

Format:

• Round-Robin or pool play format with a 3-game guarantee.

Special Notes:

• No Awards This Year: While there won't be awards this year, the winning team will have the honor of taking the bracket home.

Gameplay Rules:

• Defense Rules:
• 5th and 6th-grade teams: Man-to-Man defense only.
• 5th and 6th-grade teams: No press until the last minute of each half.
• 7th and 8th-grade teams: Press allowed to a 20-point lead, then must back off.
• Timeouts:
• 2 timeouts per game, with an additional timeout for overtime.
• Overtime Rules:
• Overtime is 1 minute, followed by sudden death if still tied after 1 minute.
• Halftime:
• 3-minute halftime.
• Game Duration:
• 15-minute halves with a continuous clock, except for the last minute of each half, timeouts, injuries, etc.

Registration Fee:

• $125 entry per team with an unlimited roster.

Additional Notes:

Concessions:

• Concessions will be available throughout the day.

Admission:

• $5 for Kindergarten to Adult; Preschool is free. $20 Family Maximum.
• Basketballs: Teams must supply their own basketballs for warm-ups. A game ball will be provided.
• Uniforms: Numbered uniforms and appropriate basketball attire are expected.
