Ames High School’s “A Championship Tradition”: The Need for Trophy Cases Ames High School has a long-standing tradition of excellence in athletics, academics, and co-curricular activities. Over the years, our students have brought home numerous state championships, earned All-State honors, and achieved remarkable success in a wide range of competitions. From dominant performances in basketball, swimming, and track to award-winning music, speech, and academic teams, Ames High continues to produce champions both on and off the field. These achievements are a testament to the dedication, talent, and perseverance of our students, coaches, and faculty. However, our success has outgrown our ability to properly showcase it. Our current trophy case is overflowing and located in a part of the building that is inaccessible to most spectators when they attend events at the high school, and many of our hard-earned awards are stored away, unseen and unappreciated. Why We Need Trophy Cases Ames High’s legacy deserves to be displayed with the pride it has earned. Trophy cases will not only honor past and present achievements but will also serve as an inspiration for future generations of students. A well-designed, spacious display will celebrate the history of our school, creating a visual reminder of the excellence that defines Ames High.
